Martin Kerstein has written and published a http://www.arena.net/blog/choosing-and-transferring-worlds-in-guild-wars-2 new blog post
tonight, this time on world selection, the cost of world transfers and
what "guesting" means to those that want to play with their friends
across worlds.


When you first launch and login to Guild Wars 2, you will be greeted by a
selection of servers, or as ArenaNet has termed them - worlds. You can
choose any server you like, even those outside of your region (though "to
select a home world that is in a different region from where you
purchased your game, you will be logged out for a short period of time
while your account is moved to your new region"), but note that
this will become your world server and you won't be able to switch
unless you're willing to pay for a world transfer with 1,800 gems.
However, once the game launches, you will be able to play with your
friends on other servers with the "guesting" option - you can play with
them as you please with a few restrictions, one being that you can't
participate in WvW.


While you won't be able to use the guesting feature this weekend, all
participants will be able to receive 2,000 gems to help facilitate
transfers. With that being said, it's probably best that you make plans
with your friends and guild before the BWE launches this Friday.

River side name looks cool, dunno i wont be for this Beta since i didn't do preorder yet. Anyway i hope to see some details, videos and some feed back about classes etc. Also i do hope you will promote Tz so we get more new people

It is impossible to enter that BEta login servers are down, or server is restarting

Logged once on 2nd try and now i cant.
Login getting zerged prob, anyway ill update with server stat.

Edit: Still unable to log, anyway the highest pop EU server was Blacktide afair (full).
Edit: Logged again after countless attempts.


Hope that u gonna pick a sv soon cause i cant w8 to try it. :3

There is an idea about trying out Desolation server as final location, all in all we must chose same server and to chose it together before it starts so we wont split later.
Also would be good to know how many people will join us on GW2 since i hope to have decent crew to do stuff together

RIVERSIDE !

Well when i said Riverside i got bunch of people telling me "no way is full of Russians and Polish players", so i would rather go to Desolation since that server got allot of skilled pvp players so you can level up easier in WvW.

I herd some good opinion about Kodonur at beta

Well i saw we mentioned few servers here so those that got mentioned i will put in vote option so all can chose from those that people mentioned here, also after you do make your vote would be good if you got some special reason why you chose some specific server to explain it.
I will just edit this topic and vote options at 1 st post.

Research about servers needed. Since WvWvW is all about community I dont want to play on full rusky or full polish server if u know what I mean

Well i understood that River side is Russian+Polish community the most, for me Desolation sounds decent, cose i heard they were one of top PvP servers.

First of all. I played on Magus Falls during the beta and I found it a very good server, no lags and friendly people all around.

Official Polish+Russian server will be Blacktide. I am Polish myself and I am 100% sure of this information as it is propagated on Polish websites. I strongly encourage you NOT to pick this server as Polish+Russian community is a nightmare.

I liked GW and i would like to play and you going as a team i see again so it could be nice to follow .
